Parasuicidal behavior in early stages of psychosis

Introduction Psychotic experiences (PE) are strongly associated with non-suicidal self-harm (NSA). NSA present throughout life, but more frequent during adolescence and young adulthood. Early psychotic episodes (PEP) a particularly vulnerable group compared to later phases of psychosis psychosis. Objectives Analyze risk factors for suicide attempts NSA, in order improve early detection prevention suicides adolescents adults PD Methods Review the literature different parasuicidal behaviors Results • Presence positive symptoms: auditory hallucinations, Delusional ideation. Social isolation Longer duration untreated Comorbid irritability, depression, anxiety, distress, insomnia. Traumatic events childhood Difficulty regulating emotional, impulsivity sensitivity reward. Consumption substances. Psychosocial stress. Conclusions We consider essential inclusion intervention programs aimed at evaluating all among individuals PEP high-risk mental states. Initial assessment ongoing assessments behaviors, symptoms, other related mentioned required. Integrating trauma management into care is critical.
